Homage to Oum Kalthoum & Mohammed Abdel Wahab
The classical melodies of Western coryphaei are often heard in Berlin, one of Europe’s cultural strongholds, yet there is still a wealth of untouched musical treasures from around the globe that deserves the attention of esteemed music lovers. This belief is shared by the members of the Husam Al-Ali Ensemble, whose aim is to introduce Middle Eastern classical music to today’s Western world.
In its current program the ensemble are focusing on two legends of the egyptian classical music – Oum Kalthoum and Mohammed Abdel Wahab who are as well-known and popular in the Middle Eastern world as are Maria Callas and Luciano Pavarotti in Western Europe. Both were extremely successful artists but their relationship was more of competitors than of colleagues. It was only during the last ten years of Oum Kalthoum's career that Abdel Wahab started composing for her. After they had put their dispute aside and merged their powers they created some of the most renowned works in the history of Arab music. Their music will be performed at the concert - „Fakkarooni“ and „Inta Omri“.

The ensemble has yet another goal in mind – to internationalise the art of performance of Arabic classical music. Stemming from Middle East, Europe and even Asia, the group consists of the best players of this genre, all of whom have made Berlin their new home. The singer himself comes from Homs, Syria, where he studied at Albaath University. After graduation, Husam Al Ali founded his first ensemble with whom he performed in Aleppo, Latakia, Beirut and Damascus.
The Husam Al-Ali Ensemble invites you to immerse yourself in this celebration of Middle Eastern culture, which has found its new home in the West.

غالباً مايتم سماع الألحان الكلاسيكية الغربية في برلين ، واحدة من المعاقل الثقافية في أوروبا ، ومع ذلك لا يزال هناك ثروة من الكنوز الموسيقية غير المكتشفة تستحق اهتمام عُشاق الموسيقا الراقية من جميع أنحاء العالم. هذا الإعتقاد مشترك بين أعضاء فرقة حسام العلي التي تهدف اليوم إلى تقديم موسيقى كلاسيكية شرق أوسطية للعالم الغربي . المجموعة تكشف النقاب عن أسماء الروائع العربية الكلاسيكية مثل :أُم كلثوم ، بليغ حمدي ومحمد عبد الوهاب المشهورين في عالم الشرق الأوسط كشهرة ماريا كالاس ، روسيني و فيردي في أوروبا الغربية. الفرقة لا يزال لديها هدف آخر ألا وهو "تدويل فن أداء الموسيقا الكلاسيكية العربية، لدى المجموعة هدف آخر في ذهنها - لتدويل فن أداء الموسيقى الكلاسيكية العربية. من مجموعة من أفضل اللاعبين من هذا النوع ، الذين قدموا من الشرق الأوسط وأوروبا وحتى آسيا ،. و جميعهم جعلوا من برلين وطنهم الجديد . يأتي المغني نفسهُ من حمص ، سوريا ، حيث درس في جامعة البعث . بعد الدراسة ، أسس حسام العلي فرقته الأولى التي أدت عروضها في حلب و اللاذقية وبيروت و دمشق. واليوم في برنامجها الحالي تركز الفرقة على أثنين من أبرز الموسيقى الكلاسيكية المصرية - أم كلثوم و محمد عبد الوهاب ، كلاهما كانا فنانين ناجحين للغاية لكن علاقتهما أخذت شكل المنافسة الموسيقية . و خلال السنوات العشر الأخيرة من حياة أم كلثوم ، ألَّف لها محمد عبد الوهاب الكثير من الأعمال الخالدة. بعد أن وضعوا جانبا روح المنافسة و وحَّدوا جهودهم معاً ، ونتج عن هذا بعض الأعمال ذات الشهرة الواسعة في تاريخ الموسيقا العربية، ستقدم الفرقة أغنيتين منها هما: فكروني و إِنتَ عُمري.
