Les Cigales Caramels

Les Cigales Caramels are performance artist Etoile Chaville and guitarist Julian Datta. Etoile Chaville is a trained contemporary dancer and improvisational theatre actor and is also in demand as a singer from directors and choreographers, thanks to her extraordinary vocal range. Julian Datta has worked on film and theatre productions, and with songwriters, bar bands and experimental improvisers. With their mix of poetry and humour, Les Cigales Caramels create their own unique world where the ordinary constantly merges with fantasy, reality with dreams, and tradition with innovation. Original songs, small scenes, tableaus and choreography flow in and out of one another seamlessly. With its roots in French chanson, the music also takes its influences from jazz, opera and Latin American styles.
