Capoeira Angola Roda
Capoeira is an activity founded in Black culture, which today contributes to the interaction between people from different cultures across the globe, particularly in relation to the resistance and existence of Afro-Brazilian and African cultures.
With this in mind, Projeto Iê Ação Cultural and the Capoeira Angola group Chipáia de Ouro with Mestre Pim-Pim and the support of Contra Mestra Mel and Treinel Toca, are organising a Capoeira Angola Roda as well as dynamics for reflecting on the theme of Black History Month, which takes place internationally every February, and which is organised and run in Berlin by the WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN.

From 2012 to 2014, Projeto Iê Ação Cultural initiated and ran the "Iê Kulturelles Netz" every March, with the same goal of reflection and analysis on the 21st of March. This date was declared by the United Nations (UN) to be the "International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination" in remembrance of the Sharpville Massacre on the 21st of March 1960. The activities of the "Iê Kulturelles Netz" are carried out simultaneously by various groups in Germany and Brazil. We warmly welcome everyone who contributes directly or indirectly to the activities of other groups in Berlin who are engaged with social and anti-racist themes to participate in this event. |
This event is taking place as part of BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2018.
