Groove of the nile

As the Nile connects countries from its source via Sudan to Egypt, so too connects Nasser Kilada these different cultures in a musical way with his band Groove of the Nile. Traditional Nubian, Egyptian and North African songs and rhythms fuse with Western sounds, soul, reggae and Afro-beat. Line up: Ulrich Maiss – cello, effects Nasser Kilada – vocal, oud, percussion Sebastian Konkol – guitar, oud Moussa Coulibaly – balafon, kora, djembe Robert Gromotka – bass Muhammad Ra’fat – drums, percussion
