Black Music Renaissance is a three-day event, conceived by award-winning pianist Kelvin Sholar, with the goal to celebrate the influential dance music of famous Black Music composers, poets and performers - and show how this music is quite relevant to today's Black music and music of the world.
The program will feature a mix of Jazz, Electronic and Latin music; including the music of Max Roach, Abbey Lincoln, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock, Oscar Brown Jr., Bert Williams and Thelonius Monk, Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, John Coltrane, Horace Tapscott, Pedro Flores, Mongo Santamaria and others.
Black Music Renaissance features the talents of exciting world class musicians from Denmark, USA, and Cuba:

Set 1: Features Afro-Danish singer Natalie Greffel's interpretation of Max Roach and Abbey Lincoln's "Freedom Now Suite" and selections from Bossa Nova and Jazz standards.
