CECILE ROSE & TRIO SCHO

A concentrate of Parisian attitude and French poetry, accompanied by the delightful Slavic sounds of Trio Scho: The French singer Cécile Rose aka actor Sylvie Krause-Grégoire, has been living in Berlin since 2001. She debuted as a singer at WABE (Berlin) in 2012 at the anniversary performance of Trio Scho.

In November 2014, she opened the Festival de la Chanson Française at CORBO (Berlin) and presented the first part of the programme BALS PERDUS/FORGOTTEN BALLROOMS. In May 2015, the CD release concert of BALS PERDUS was performed there. Since then, they have regularly performed this repertoire together at various venues in Berlin, Potsdam, Hamburg and Paris.

With a fast waltz called Java, the French singer Cécile Rose whisks us off into the colourful lost world of French ballrooms: she sings love songs from villains, prostitutes and accordionists, the bourgeoisie and gendarmerie, with biting irony and melancholy. She brings French chanson from the Paris of the 1930s to the post-war period back to life, with songs from Francis Lemarque, Vincent Scotto, Gilbert Bécaud, Serge Gainsbourg and Piaf.
