The Balkan Spirit Ensemble was founded in Berlin in 2015. The ensemble’s goal is the musical exchange of two different musical languages – that of Balkan folk songs and that of modern jazz and contemporary music, based on the Balkan Spirit Ensemble’s arrangements. Through our interpretations we wish to narrate the melodical strengths and vitality of these songs in a contemporary musical language.
