Productions financed by equity and third-party funds
Over the years, WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN has developed and implemented a variety of festival formats and/or event series using its own team or respectively in close co-operation with curators from the city's various artistic and cultural milieus.
The curator's task is the professional mediation of cultural, artistic and (cultural) policy outcomes. We are constantly working with curators who see themselves as artists, as creators of comprehensive experiences, who create an event environment that opens up opportunities for participation and communication for their target audience, so that this in turn can become part of the event.
Our ever-changing and returning curators move as experts in various art, cultural and activist circles in the city of Berlin. They know how to depict current developments, discourses and perspectives, especially from marginalised and/or avant-garde communities, in the works they curate.
The curators regularly share their artistic expertise and (trans)cultural knowledge with our visitors, presenting events such as cinema series, jazz, world music and (Bospo-)rock concerts, panel discussions and book presentations, theatre and dance days or interdisciplinary events that reflect important aspects of their artistic, cultural, political, ideological or biographical frame of reference.
These events, which are entirely under the direction of the WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN, offer possibilities to:
- permanently review and improve one's own standards;
- represent the organisation and its activities with a consistent programme to both potential visitors and regular guests;
- increase the appeal to potential co-operation partners and guest organisers;
- comment on and accompany current topics.
