Alfred Jonas Dowuona-Hammond Jr, better known as Bibi Hammond, was born into a political family in the First Republic of Ghana. During his over 25 years of living in Berlin, his career has encompassed the roles of musician, producer and arranger. He has produced and played bass on several records for the 'Godfather' of Nubian music, the late Ali Hassan Kuban. As a multi-instrumentalist and master of musical hybrids, he has played alongside jazz fusion and blues artist Jean Paul Bourelly, pop and soul singer Vanessa Mason, R&B crooner Ayman, trip-hop band Reality Brothers, the Sudanese singer and Henna artist Setona, Waldemar Bastos, who combines Afro pop and Fado and the German-based transnational anti-racism project Brothers Keepers.
