San Ima

Inspired by bossa nova, electro-pop and Dadaism, combining electronic devices, visual effects and Música Popular Brasileira.

Electronic sounds with saudade to confront questions with no answers: San Ima - which means „the Saint of Now“ - is a music project thrilling between cultures, images, poetry and confusion. Berlin is the stage of this musical and visual dialogue between brazilian bossa nova and technology. San Ima calls it Broken Bossa.

San Ima was formed in 2010 by the Dj and singer Anaís Furtado and the musicologist Alejandro Pardo. They began a journey inspired by bossa nova, electro-pop and Dadaism, combining electronic devices, visual effects and Música Popular Brasileira. In 2011 the visual and sound designer VanTa and the percussionist Zulu joined the duo, expanding the field of San Ima to an experimental stage of cultural anthropophagy. San Ima became a 4D musical project, with the melancholy of exodus and the energy of hedonists.
